Info for attendees

We’re so glad you’re joining us in San Francisco for HeSCA’s swan song.  Although we’re sorry to see the organization retire, we’re thrilled that so many of our long-time friends will be with us to celebrate.

Here’s some important information:

  • Schedule:  Friday starts at 8:30am and concludes at 2:30pm after lunch.  The afternoon and evening is open so you can enjoy San Francisco on your own or with friends.  Saturday’s program starts at 8:30am and concludes at 2pm, after the Business Luncheon.  Then we’ll all leave the hotel at 3pm for the Celebration Extravaganza which runs through 10:00pm.

  • Thursday reception:  There’s nothing formal planned, but the hotel has a complimentary wine hour in the lobby living room from 5-6 pm.   Please join us if you can.
    ….
  • Friday morning:  A continental breakfast will be served at 8:30 am in the Sydney Lounge.  The meeting will start at 9:00 am in Athens North.  Both rooms are in the Lower Lobby Level at Hotel Monaco.
    ….
  • Updates sessions:  As you know, each attendee will be asked to give a short presentation. It can be about a particularly interesting project or accomplishment… or just an update on what’s happening in your professional or personal life.  Because so many people registered, please limit these presentations to 12 minutes or less.

  • AV support:  We will have a screen and projector connected to a Mac with PowerPoint.  If you wish to show visuals, please bring them on a flash drive and we’ll load them on the Mac.  Or bring your own computer and we can hook that up to the projector.  We expect to have WIFI access in the meeting room – but no promises, so plan accordingly.
    ..
  • Saturday Celebration:  Casual attire.  Remember that the event includes a boat trip on the Bay so it may be cool (it is March after all) and possibly wet. The cabin is enclosed and heated, but some of us may want to be outside part of the time.  Dress accordingly.
    ..
  • Board meeting:  The Board of Directors will meet on Thursday, March 27 at 4:00 pm in the HeSCA suite.  Ask at the registration desk for the room number.
    ..
  • Hotel WIFI:  The hotel has WIFI in the guest rooms, but they charge for it unless you are a Kimpton InTouch member.  It’s free to join and a benefit is complimentary high-speed internet. Another benefit is that you can spend $10 in your room’s mini bar and they pick up the tab.
    ..
  • Getting to Hotel Monaco, 501 Geary Street.  Driving directions and airport shuttle information are on the hotel website:

    ……….
  • Car rental:  You really don’t need a car during the meeting.  But if you want to rent one, try Advantage Rent a Car.  They have offered us a 10% discount.  Book through this link (http://www.advantage.com/?rc=CD00C08B83) or call 800-777-5500 and refer to discount code CD00C08B83.
