The Health and Science Communications Association is an association of communications professionals committed to sharing knowledge and resources in the health and science arenas. The foundation for our network is built upon our unique membership which has created opportunities for unlimited exchange of information and support.

HeSCA 2012 Conference logoThis year’s annual meeting in Providence, Reflections and Connections, promises to be better than ever. Presentations center around social networking, teambuilding and creativity. Workshops include Social Media ROI, Let’s Make Comics!, and a walking tour of colonial Providence.

We’re lucky to have our conference fall on a Waterfire weekend.  After the Awards Banquet on Saturday night, experience this award winning, live sculpture of bonfires and music.  It’s a unique and powerful work of art that you won’t want to miss.

Important deadlines:

      Hotel: Register by May 21 to get conference rates.
      Registration:  Register by May 25 to save $100.

Reflections & Connections – Conference Registration Now Open!

Registration for HeSCA’s 2012 annual conference, Reflections & Connections, is now open.

HeSCA meetings are known for their mix of presentations on state-of-the-art issues in health and science communications mixed with just the right amount of networking activities.  This year is no exception.

Presentations will focus around these three themes:

  • It’s a Social World

  • Managing for Success

  • Creativity in Communications

The 2012 HeSCA Media Festivals

The Health and Science Communications Association is proud to announce the 38th annual HeSCA Media Festi­vals! The Festivals are an international forum for health sciences media. Our goal is to showcase and recognize those individuals and organizations whose works represent the very best in health sciences media production.

Productions entered in the competition are subjected to a demanding peer review using standardized judging criteria. A select number of these entries are presented prestigious awards at special ceremonies held in conjunction with the HeSCA Annual Meeting in Providence, Rhode Island, June 23, 2012.

IMIHEP Award 2011

Conference in the UK
entries for the IMIHEP Award are now being accepted! The successful candidate of this fabulous award will receive:
• Full registration at the conference
• Two nights accommodation
• A travel award with a value of up to $1000!

The IMI conference, on October 5 – 8 this year, has a jam‐packed schedule including:
• A Keynote address and 2‐day scientific program
• A full day of Workshops
• An extensive Trade Show
• Annual Banquet and Awards Dinner
